New Mexico: A Resource or Sacrifice State

Please join us for Indivisible Nob Hill and Green Amendments For the Generations for a Panel Discussion on key environmental issues in our State on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, 6:00pm MT/8:00pm ET

Panelists will include:
Leona Morgan: an environmental activist and co-founder of the Nuclear Issues Study Group, Diné community organizer and leading advocate for communities in New Mexico impacted by the proposed Centralized Interim Storage CIS and uranium mining.

Eileen Shaughnessy: a lecturer in the Sustainability Studies Program at UNM. Her areas of research and teaching include environmental justice, environmental racism, nuclear colonialism, environmental & social impacts of nuclear weapons production, critical race studies, and intersectional feminist studies.

Both Leona and Eileen will address nuclear Issues in New Mexico, in particular waste storage plans in Lea County by Holtec International.

Mario Atencio: a Legislative District Assistant at Navajo Nation Council in Cuba, New Mexico. Mario will discuss health impacts of methane pollution.

There will also be a guest appearance by the Green Amendment author, Maya van Rossum: leader of the Green Amendment movement and founder of Green Amendments For the Generations. Maya will discuss current efforts to propose a Green Amendment into the state’s constitution.
